The Chamber of Flowood committees are an excellent way to learn from and build relationships with your professional peers. Our committees effect change at the Chamber, in the city government and state legislature, and in the community. All members are encouraged to get involved by participating on one or more Chamber committees. Committee membership is open to anyone willing to work on projects.
Business Development & Member Communications Committee Chair: Marty Douglass, Coffee News
The business development & member communications committee focuses on the economic strength of Flowood because it joins local entrepreneurs and helps them build a strong foundation to be successful. The Chamber is committed to remain on the cutting edge on several targeted areas, including corporate development and recruitment, minority and small business development, retail business development, tourism development, and information technology. The committee organizes quality business seminars led by field experts to foster continued education in both personal and professional development.
Diplomats & Member Relations Committee Chair: Dr. Sara Kimmel, Mississippi College Flowood Center Co-Chair: Johnny Beck, Community Trust Bank
Diplomats are people who like to have fun. They help new members find out how to get involved in the Chamber and greet guests at chamber events. Diplomats are instrumental in the membership renewal process and help generate ideas for Chamber programming. As the eyes and ears of the Chamber, the Diplomats connect with our community, and through that involvement, help the Chamber develop into Flowood's premier business organization.

The promotions and events committee develops marketing communication programs to promote the chamber, area businesses, as well as the city of Flowood, and community events.
